Circumstances – A farmer, Mr John Lloyd Jones, was working in his field when he was disturbed by what he assumed was a loud clap of thunder. He walked 200 yards towards the farm and heard a rushing, whistling noise that culminated in a thud behind him. His son came over and they found the Pontllyfni meteorite in a shallow hole in the ground 10 yards behind them. They described the stone as being warm to the touch.
