Circumstances – An account by a Mr W. Bingley published in The Gentleman’s Magazine in 1796 says that this fall was witnessed by 5 people. It apparently landed on the wooden part of a horse harness and broke into 3 pieces. The horse then fell to the ground and the 2 farm labourers present collected the fragments and gave them to Mr Bingley. None of this meteorite is now preserved.
