Location – Leighlinbridge, County Carlow, Ireland

Total known weight – 271g

Circumstances – A large fireball was witnessed by many people all over Ireland. Meteorite dealer Rob Elliot placed adverts in local newspapers offering a large reward for any recovered fragments. In January 2000 he received in the mail a package containing three rocks. Two of them were ordinary terrestrial rocks, but one was a piece of the Leighlinbridge meteorite.
